Michael Ferrara, PE

Senior Structural Engineer

Michael brings several years of comprehensive structural design, analysis, and project management experience across a variety of engineering sectors including water, wastewater, tunnels, aviation and the energy sector.

Michael is a dedicated engineer and enthusiastic leader who utilizes technical expertise and extensive knowledge of structural materials, building codes, standards, and industry-specific analysis tools to deliver practical and efficient engineering solutions.

Michael’s technical project responsibilities at ANS Geo include structural analysis and design, project coordination, construction inspection, structural condition assessment and repair of existing facilities, and preparation of technical reports and drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates.

Design responsibilities have consisted of load development and structural component design utilizing various structural materials. As a result of his comprehensive experience over a wide variety of projects and engineering sectors, he has become highly knowledgeable in various national and local building codes, design manuals and guidelines.

Recently, Michael’s structural engineering growth has extended into the renewable energy market, including solar, wind, battery storage, and natural gas developments.

Michael routinely performs site-specific corrosion evaluations and structural analysis for steel pile foundations that support photovoltaic solar array system, using soils information to evaluate the stress ratio of the structural member, pile deflections and required pile embedment depth to establish efficiency in foundation sizes and lengths.

Above all else, Michael values spending quality time with his family and friends, especially his wife and two young sons. He loves to embark on exciting outdoor adventures and activities with his growing family.

He is also an avid sports fan who is particularly dedicated to his local NY/NJ teams, including the Giants and Yankees.
